Irish Evening at the New Town Hall

A meeting with traditional Irish music and dance will take place for the sixth time in the historic Great Hall of the New Town Hall, during the Irish Evening.

Date: Wednesday 21 August from 7:30 p.m.

The Irish evening that has been taking place at the New Town Hall in the past four years is an accompanying event of Bernard's Summer School 2019, an international summer school focused on Irish culture, which takes place in the Czech Republic for the eighteenth time.

An ensemble consisting of the Summer School teachers from several countries and musicians of the local ‘Rookery’ band will provide the music.

The dance programme will be led by the Summer School teachers and will present traditional Irish dance culture. The audience will be able to enjoy not only the melodicity and enthusiasm of Irish traditional music but also to actively join in the dance. This way the participants can visit different areas of Ireland through the dances that are the living heritage of Irish traditional culture.
